First Hike on Oahu

While the boys were in school and Jon and I had the day off we
went a did one of the shortest hike on this island. Manoa Falls. It was
fun, easy and beautiful till you are heading back to your car and
realize how many bug bites you have all over yourself.

The water fall was nice. Not big at all and couldn't swim in it because of
way too many rocks and not deep enough.

No matter how much bug spray I put on I still get eaten up. That is the
only downfall in Hawaii for me. All the dumb bugs.

The Bombers

Soccer season is over and they did great. Ethan cant wait till he plays again
which will start in January, so Jon has just a short two month break from coaching.

Coach Jon

After the game we had a little pot luck for the team. They all enjoyed the last
game together and all the goodies they got. Before everyone left the coaches
handed out trophies and took team pictures.

Now all we have is Jakob in basketball for now until January they
both start soccer and maybe baseball.

Pee Wee Basketball

Basketball season started here for the kids on base a couple weeks ago
and Jakob wanted to join and since Ethan is already playing soccer he would
have to miss this season for basketball.

It is so funny to see 3-5 year old play basketball.
Most of them just play around in line while the volunteer
coaches and parents try to teach them.

They each got to choose a basketball

He is liking it so far so we will see if he sticks to it. Soccer is
starting for him too now since he just turned four he will be able
to join a lot more sports here on base.

First Ball

We went to the Navy Birthday Ball last month here in Waikiki at the Sheraton.
It was last minute, I mean the day before is when Jon told me we are going. One of his bosses told him to go so we had to. He was able to leave work a little early so we just took off to the mall as soon as he got home. We ran all over the mall for about 5 hours back and forth to different stores. I found many dresses I liked but then no shoes went great with it. Finally after deciding on the dress I wanted and the only shoes I could find that went well with the dress we left the mall right at closing time and grabbed some food on the way home for the boys. The boys behaved well while we dragged them back and forth all over the mall.

It was fun and nice to meet some of the people Jon works with. We sat at the same table all of his bosses sat at and got to get to know them, I am glad they got to see the other side of Jon. It was the Navy ball so their were only about 2 tables full of Air force. The food was good and the music was great too. We cant wait to go to the Air Force ball next year so we will know more people and enjoy ourselves more.
It ended around 11pm so Jon and I walked around Waikiki with all the tourist as they looked at us walking around dressed up. Since we went alone we didn't have anyone to take pictures of us all night so we walked around taking pictures of each other and trying to get a good one while putting it on the timer on a trash can or bench or stairs. haha
We had a good time and finished our night at the Cheescake Factory Restaurant for a couple more drinks before heading home.

Jakob turns 4

OCTOBER 24, 2012

Today was Jakob's (Boo Boo) 4th birthday, it started off by waking up and seeing his room decorated. Sarah and I waited for him to go to sleep to decorate his room. When he woke up he was so surprised and excited it was his birthday! He could not stop telling us he was 4 today.
Later on that day we surprised him at his school with snacks for his classmates. He said he didn't want cupcakes, he wants crackers! So we picked him up early that day and hung out at home until it was time for dinner. We took him to Farrell's in Aiea, it is an ice cream parlor and restaurant but has an old 1930's feel to it. It is so cool there and the boys had lots of fun. Our neighbors joined us for the night too. When we got home he opened all his presents that all his friends and family had mailed him, and he loved them all. It hasn't hit me yet that my baby boy is now 4 years old and that he is no longer a baby. They grow up fast and the faster they grow up, the older I know I getting. Anyways, Jakob had so much fun on his birthday, he wished is family from California could be there but he understood why they could not.

Halloween 2012

Ethan was able to wear his costume to school today so he got to start his Halloween day earlier than Jakob since he couldn't dress up at his school.

Jon and I cooked dinner before we took the boys out for the rest of the night and past out candy. Here on base trick or treat hours were from 6-8pm so we made sure we got out right at six so we can get back home and also pass out candy.

The boys really enjoyed passing out the candy. They didn't really care to go door to door. We ran out of candy pretty quickly with all the kids that came out this year. Now we know for next year and what we want to do differently. Jon and I will also be dressing up next year, the boys told us they wanted us to.

Here are some of the pictures I was able to get.

Buster came out for the night too
